Chicago Business Seminars
APPLICATION OF THE ONE MINUTE MANAGER
OVERVIEW: In this seminar we discuss how to apply the lessons Ken Blanchard wrote about in his best selling "The One Minute Manager". We break down the three secrets of goal setting, praising and reprimanding in different ways to make sure each is fully understood. Then we go through practical application examples of each so individuals can see how they really apply to all aspects of life. While this program is great for those who are directly managing a staff, it is also good for developing people skills. The program will help participants become not only become better managers, but also better parents, employees, co-workers, and friends. This program could take the place of reading the One Minute Manager, but it also works well as a follow up to the book. This seminar works great for new groups starting on a project, or for departments where a positive culture change is needed. For the individual, almost everyone will get great value out of this presentation.
RECOMMENDATIONS: This seminar works best with smaller groups of 5 to 30 participants. As the group exceeds 30 participants, there is less interaction of questions and answers. For groups over 50 this seminar takes on more of a lecture format. This presentation can be done in 1.5 hours. Expanding the time allows for more personal direction for participants. We would recommend never exceeding 3 hours for this presentation. We recommend doing this presentation at either the start, or end of the business day. For all of our presentations we recommend a well lit, comfortable, cool room, with minimal distractions.
FEES: As each of our seminars are customized, the fees may vary based upon the amount of preparation time needed. A good starting point would be to expect to pay $800 for 10 participants for the 1.5 hour seminar. As the number of participants goes up, the cost per participant drops. This fee would include the pre-seminar meeting, custom preparation, reasonable travel time, etc. Extraneous fees, if any, would be discussed at the pre-seminar meeting. These could include additional travel expenses, facility rental, support materials, etc.
